You want freedom. I want freedom. We all want freedom.

There’s nobody who doesn’t want to be free. And we tend to equate freedom to doing what we want to do. “I just want to do whatever I feel like doing and then I’ll be free.”

But you know, feelings and emotions are fickle and we cannot allow our emotions and our feelings to lead us. They add to us. They are given to us to follow (us). They follow us. They are a part of how we live but they are not good leaders. And so doing what I feel like doing – it doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m going to be free.

In fact, if I just think of my own life, doing what I feel like doing most of the time, is not really going to serve me. It’s very often detrimental.

What I feel like doing, is staying in my comfort zone. I don’t feel like putting in extra effort but I realize the value of it and then I do what I should do. So that’s when the freedom comes. Freedom does not come when we do what we want to do. It comes when we do what we should do.

So I want to encourage you to do the right thing, whether it’s easy or not, whether you feel like it or not. Always endeavour to do what you believe is the right thing to do, and there’s a much higher chance that you will achieve at least a level of freedom than what it would be if you just did what you felt like doing.

So be free. Do what you should do.
