What is failure or failing? It’s not a thing. It’s not an action. It’s a mindset.

If you spoke to any successful person today, they will tell you of some failures they have had or costly mistakes they have made (if they’re honest) . If failing made a person a failure then we’d all be failures! The reason that successful person is successful today is because they got up again after making the mistakes they made.

Having the ‘never say die’ attitude. Being determined to not let anything keep you down. That’s a successful mindset. When you realise that no one and nothing has the power to stop you from reaching your destiny except you, then nothing can stop you from being a success in life … except you. (Now’s the time to take responsibility for your next step). Being willing to share your past failures with others in order to help them and to warn them of future pitfalls in their lives is also part of the success recipe. We should never feel ashamed of our past mistakes and failures. Remember that everybody has them!

So, what does it mean to “get up again”? Getting up again is more than not staying down. It also implies doing something different. Albert Einstein once said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” And it is recorded that Thomas Edison tried hundreds (some say thousands) of different ways to produce a light bulb before he invented one that worked. The key word is different! If something doesn’t work, find out what went wrong, and make sure you don’t do that same thing again.

Now it ‘s time for action: What in your life is not producing the results you want to see? Is there anything you can do about it? Anything you can change? Just one thing. Even a small thing that seems insignificant. Do that!
